Sightseeing on Public Transport Part #1 - Train travel

PUBLIC TRANSPORT CAN BE AN ABSOLUTE CHORE IF YOU HAVE TO DO IT DAY AFTER DAY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT DOESN'T LINE UP AND YOU HAVE TO WAIT A WHILE TO CONTINUE YOUR JOURNEY. HOWEVER, IT IS A GREAT WAY NOT ONLY TO GET AROUND SYDNEY, BUT TO SEE IT AS WELL.

Coming down from the Central Coast, seeing as I don't drive, I often catch the train down to get to university. Personally I find the trip somewhat scenic as I'm able to get shots like this:

I admit, I don't go into the city itself too often but I took the chance recently to detour into the city from the university before going back up to the Central Coast (admittedly the photos shown earlier were from this trip home as more often than not I don't take photos) and I was able to snap this shot of the Sydney Opera House from the Sydney Harbour Bridge (which got in the way a little bit as the train line is on the opposite side of the bridge to where the Opera House is)

The best way to do a sightseeing trip like this is on an Opal card. To find out more about the Opal card, including where to get one go to http://www.opal.com.au.
